Seller's Responsibilities
Title Endorsement: The seller must ensure the vehicle title is properly endorsed, including signatures from both the seller and the buyer, to legally transfer ownership
Buyer's Responsibilities
Valid Identification: The buyer is required to present a valid form of identification to complete the title transfer process. This can include a state-issued driver's license or ID card.
Smog Certification: In compliance with California's environmental regulations, the buyer must obtain a valid smog certificate, issued within the last 90 days, unless the vehicle is exempt from smog requirements.
Odometer Disclosure: The buyer must provide an accurate odometer reading at the time of sale for vehicles less than 10 years old, as mandated by federal and state laws to ensure transparency regarding the vehicle's mileage.
